Instituto Dental has highly advanced radiological equipment that is in keeping with the current regulation and permanently updated through a quality control test that is carried out every year.
Our clinic has two panoramic x-ray systems which are extremely useful in the dento-maxillo-mandibular area.
Its role in odontological diagnosis is essential. The diagnostic value in oral surgery, implantology, orthodontics, periodontics, oral and dental pathology, has been clearly demonstrated.
Instituto Dental performs a Quality Control test of its X-ray equipment every year in order to check its correct operation. This report is made by the company ASESORÍA SERVICIOS DE INGENIERÍA Y GESTIÓN MEDIOAMBIENTAL S.A (ASIGMA, S.A.), accredited as an UNIDAD TÉCNICA DE PROTECCIÓN RADIOLÓGICA (RADIOLOGICAL PROTECTION TECHNICAL UNIT) by the Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (Nuclear Security Council) with reference number CSN/01/UTPR/RXM/MU-001/93 to carry out the corresponding activities as far as radiological protection is concerned in X-ray facilities for medical diagnosis purposes.
A dental scanner
The emergence of new CAT-based diagnostic techniques has meant a spectacular change for stomatologists and odontologists. They operate with a high safety level. CAT images not only provide a detailed description of dental arch anatomy but also offer relevant information about bone amount and density, a key aspect when it comes to evaluate the convenience of indicating implants. They also give the surgeon the exact location of the anatomical structures that may entail risks during the operation.
Several dental radiovisiography systems
Our clinic is equipped with this oral x-ray system which has numerous advantages.
- Immediate x-ray image viewing. Being able to observe the x-ray image immediately represents an important clinical advantage. It becomes especially important for endodontics, prosthetic fitting evaluation, intraradicular post placement, surgery and many other situations.
- Possibility to improve x-ray images. Digital x-rays allow the dentist to change the contrast or increase the size. They facilitate the detection of pathologies as well as the explanations to the patient.
- Effective x-ray archiving. It permits to find an image quickly and prevents the loss of x-rays.
- Lower radiation. Radiation can be reduced by up to 70 or 80% with digital systems.
